JAMES SHIELDS
INTERIOR DESIGNER, PROJECT MANAGER
Mr. Shields is the owner of A S Design Studios, LLC, located in the metropolitan Los Angeles area. In 2007, he received a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Architectural Interior Design from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
He is also an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Design, a member of The Let’s Group - Consulting and Consortium of Professional Gerontologists, a member of the Environmental Design Committee for AGHE (Association for Gerontology in Higher Education) and a member of EDRA (Environmental Design Research Committee). He specializes in Customized Designs for Aging In Place, Independent, and Barrier-Free Living. He has expertise in the assessment and customization of designs for adapting client homes to meet their changing needs, including: space planning, construction documentation, selection of interior finishes and adaptive furniture, fixtures, equipment, and accessories. He also has over 12 years of Project Management experience with both commercial and residential construction projects. In partnership with a local General Contractor and a major retail department store, Mr. Shields successfully assisted in the design, project planning, remodel and new construction of stores in California, Arizona and Missouri.
Additionally, Mr. Shields has worked on single and multi-unit residential construction and historical preservation projects.
